History
Dj Keef first took the Helm to a set of turntables at the early age of 14. Since then he has never stopped studying the art of mixing in different genres and formats.
Keef was first noticed as a respectable dj when he entered and won a dj competition in Brighton at a venue called Bar Centro. Winning this competition gave him a weekly residency playing Tech-House, warming up for the likes of Andy Farley, John '00' Flemming and Anne Savage.
Since Brighton Keef has been associated with Pioneering East London Drum&bass internet radio site, www.drumnbassworldwide.co.uk where he hosted a weekly 2 hour radio show called 'Always Summer'. The name originated due to his regular flow of 'happy' vocal drum&bass. Being a part of dnbww.com saw him play at a number venues around London and Brighton.
In 2003 Keef purchased Final Scratch v.1 whilst snowboarding on holiday in Andorra. Final Scratch has allowed him to mix every genre of music via his turntables which was once only a childhood dream. You can now hear the drum&bass junky playing the occasional motown and northern soul set at parties which always get people moving..
Keef now prefers the more reliable product by manufactured Rane, 'Serato Scratch' as used by most top mp3 dj's on the scene.
Renowned for turntable antics and seemless marathon drum&bass sets, (as long as 8 hours in some incidences) Keef has been in connection with 'Genetic Promotions' who flew him to San Francisco to dj on the slopes of Tahoe to show the US snowboard adrenalin junkies how the Brits do things over here.
Keef is now moving towards the production side of things to which tracks are starting to develop and technical skills improve.
